Automotive Tech 1 & 2
The Lake Region Vocational Center Automotive Technology program has been nationally certified by the National Automotive Technician’s EducationAT 3 Foundation (NATEF). NATEF examines the structure and resources of training programs and evaluates them against nationally accepted standards of quality. NATEF’s precise national standards reflect the skills that students must master. The NATEF evaluation process ensures that accredited training programs meet or exceed industry recognized uniform standards of excellence.
Areas of instruction in Automotive Technology include engine rebuilding, computer control service, automotive electrical service, cooling system service, emissions control, engine tune-up, brake and suspension, wheel alignment, and fuel systems.
Students will take the State of Maine Inspection Licensing exam, and may also participate in the Ford AAA Student Skills Challenge.
Students are able to join SkillsUSA and match their skills with students from around the state during the SkillsUSA State Competitions held each March. Winners from the state competitions compete in the National Competitions held each June in Kansas City.
