In this one semester course, students will learn how to compose a crime scene, take professional quality photographs, process the crime scene, collect evidence, analyze that evidence, and present expert testimony at a mock criminal trial. Students that are interested in careers as a crime scene investigator, forensic scientist, district attorney, or police officer would benefit from this course.
Through direct instruction, demonstration, individual practice, and small group activities, students will learn how to analyze and process a crime scene. Students will work as an investigative team to collect and process evidence, write a report, and testify in court about their investigation.
Students can earn three free college credits through a dual enrollment agreement with the Central Maine Community College.
