Mock Trial at Bridgton District Court
On May 5th, students from the Law Enforcement program traveled to Bridgton District Court to participate in a mock criminal trial before Judge Keith Powers. The trial involved an underage drinking case where a mother was charged for furnishing alcohol to minors. Students represented the defense attorney, the prosecutor, the jury, and the juvenile victims. Cumberland County Assistant District Attorney Christine Thibeault assisted the prosecutor and attorney Todd Crawford assisted the defense attorneys. Students applied their knowledge of the trial court process to the case, with the jury rendering a not guilty verdict.
