Veterans Day Celebration
A luncheon ceremony to honor local Veterans was held at Lake Region Vocational Center on November 9. Students from the Law Enforcement class presented and retired the colors in a solemn ceremony at the beginning of the festivities.
The entrees, prepared and served by the students in the Culinary Arts and Diversified Occupations programs, included Haddock Casco Bay and Chicken Supreme with roasted potatoes and vegetable. This was followed by a freshly made apple crisp topped with vanilla ice cream.
Brad Gaumont, a Bridgton police officer who served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army and who completed two tours in Iraq, was the lucky Veteran who won the patriotic quilt. This quilt was one of three that were created by members of the Bridgton Chickadee Quilters to honor local Veterans.
