We serve students from three area high schools…..Lake Region High School, Fryeburg Academy, and Sacopee Valley High School.
We offer 9 vocational programs.
We serve 8th grade students in Diversified Occupations.
Automotive Technology is NATEF (National Automotive Technician Education Foundation) Certified and students leave with multiple ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certifications.
Health Occupations students work toward their State CNA License.
Culinary Arts is nationally certified through the American Culinary Federation and students work toward their national Servsafe Certification.
Construction Technology is working on national certification through American Homebuilders while earning their OSHA 10 cards.
Law Enforcement standards mirror those standards taught at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and the majority of students go on to post-secondary law enforcement programs or join the military.
Four programs, Law Enforcement, Culinary Arts, Automotive Technology, and Health Occupations, offer dual enrollment with Southern Maine Community College. Students can earn college credit while successfully completing their LRVC program. This credit is transferable.
We have Articulation Agreements with several post-secondary institutions. Students are eligible to earn college credit while earning high school credit.
Each year we conduct a follow-up study for our 1-3-5 year program completers. In 2013-14, 42.9% attended post-secondary schools; 41.6% were employed, and 5.2% entered the military.
LRHS and LRVC students can enroll in PLATO to receive credit in a variety of courses such as Algebra II and Biology.
Finally, Vocational Education, now commonly referred to as CTE-Career and Technical Education-has worked with competencies or Standards since becoming a part of public education. Our program curricula is organized and assessed by standard. Our students earn Proficiency-based diplomas.
