EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN PROGRAM
This program is a joint effort between LRVC and United Ambulance Sevice which is based in Auburn, Lewiston and Bridgton. United Ambulance is a certified training site in Maine which allows the school to contract with them to deliver services to the students in the area through vocational programming.
Allison Ross, EMT-P for United Ambulance, was an integral part of bringing this program to LRVC and will be one of the primary instructors. United will provide the equipment and supplies required of the curriculum and classroom space will be shared with the new Fire Science Program at the school. “This is a win-win situation for the students and the community,” Allison states. “We can train 10 students during the second semester who will be ready to sit for the certification test in the Spring.
Any Junior or Senior student who is at least 16 years if age and who attends Lake Region High School, Sacopee Valley High School or Fryeburg Academy can pick up an application at his/her guidance office.
