The Certified Nurse Assistant program is a one year program at Lake Region Vocational Center.
Students learn to maintain a proper patient environment, record and report observations, provide assistance in personal hygiene, assist with emergency situations and communicate effectively and professionally.
Students who successfully complete the program will obtain CPR and First Aid certification and are eligible to take the State of Maine Certified Nurse Assistant Exam and obtain placement on the CNA Registry. Some graduates have immediately begun work as CNAs while others have continued to post-secondary programs and universities to further their health care careers.
