This program has many exciting features designed to prepare students for a career in the food service industry. Students will be exposed to the basic fundamentals in food service and food preparation. Included in the curriculum is, safety and sanitation, classical, modern & ethnic cooking, menu planning, professional baking, cake decorating, restaurant design, ice carving, short-order cooking, and much more.
All Culinary Arts students have the opportunity to join SkillsUSA, a student-run organization emphasizing team buidling, leadership and career skills. Top Culinary Arts SkillsUSA members will compete against students from other vocational schools throughout the state of Maine.
