Construction Technology

Back to Construction Technology I & II

Construction Technology is a two-year program that will give students the skills to work in the exciting field of residential building.  Students work together in teams to build structures for the community and families in need.
Construction Technology objectives are to develop tool and machine skills, basic fundamentals of construction, efficient building techniques, and problem solving.
The curriculum includes learning about building materials, hand and power tools, basic house framing, exterior wall finish, roof design, thermal and sound insulation, stairs and interior finish, cabinetmaking, and tool and workshop safety.
Students are able to join SkillsUSA and match their skills with students from around the state during the SkillsUSA State Competitions held each March.  Winners from the State Competitions compete in the National Competition held each June in Kansas City.
